The 2026 Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series presented by Coltman Farms Racing and fueled by Sunoco season will get underway this weekend with a lucrative doubleheader in the Palmetto State. Up first will be the grand reopening show at Modoc Speedway in Modoc, South Carolina on Friday night, March 20. The inaugural running of the ‘Ed Basey Memorial’ will take place on the gray gumbo and a $10,004 winner’s check will be up for grabs in a 54-lap feature.
The dirt-slinging action will then quickly shift to the storied Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina on Saturday evening, March 21. The ‘March Madness’ extravaganza will be run under the lights for the very first time and the victor of the 60-lap headliner will receive a hefty $20,053 first place prize. Both high-profile races this weekend will be co-sanctioned by the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by Showtime Properties and will be broadcast LIVE on FloRacing.
At Modoc on Friday, the pit gates will open at 3:00pm and the grandstands will start to allow fans into the refurbished facility starting at 5:00pm. The Drivers Meeting is set for 6:30pm and hot laps will light up the racetrack at 7:00pm. Joining the Super Late Models on the ‘Ed Basey Memorial’ racing card will be CRUSA Street Stock ($1,000 to win), SSTA Factory Stock ($600 to win), Front Wheel Drive ($500 to win), Sharp Mini Late Model ($400 to win), and Crown Vic ($300 to win) divisions.
Adults will be admitted into the grandstands at Modoc for $25.00 and into the pit area for $45.00. Admission for kids ages 6-12 will be $10.00 in the stands and $20.00 in the pits. Children ages 5 and under will be allowed onto the grounds for FREE. Modoc Speedway is located at 1133 Washington School Road in Modoc, South Carolina. On Saturday at Cherokee, the pit gates will swing open at 2:00pm with the grandstands opening one hour later at 3:00pm. The Drivers Meeting is scheduled for 5:30pm and the first hot lap session will be set to roll off at 6:00pm. Along with the ground-pounding Super Late Models on the ‘March Madness’ card will be the 604 Late Models, Thunder Bombers, and Extreme 4. The show will be capped off with a 100-lap Southern Nationals Enduro Race, which will boast a $2,500 payday.
Tickets for adults on Saturday will be $35.00 into the stands and $45.00 into the pits. A weekend pass can also be purchased for those attending Cherokee’s Friday night show, which will kick off the track’s two-day ‘March Madness’ weekend. Super Late Model body rules and the Droop Rule will be the same as those agreed on by both the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series - among others. The Super Late Model entry fee will be $120.00 at Modoc and $150.00 at Cherokee, while transponders will be available to rent at both venues.
