Young Memorial at North Georgia Speedway Rained Out on Friday, July 24

With heavy rain and thunderstorms forecasted throughout the day in Chatsworth, Georgia, tonight’s annual ‘Young Memorial’ at North Georgia Speedway has officially been rained out.  Track and Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series officials are scouring over schedules and a potential make-up date will be announced in the near future.

With the rain-out of tonight’s $10,053 to win show at the “Fastest 1/3-Mile in the South,” the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series presented by Coltman Farms Racing and fueled by Sunoco Race Fuels shifts its focus to the point finale on Saturday, July 25 at the bad-fast Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee.  A champion will be crowned tomorrow night at “The Taz” and a $10,053 payday will be up for grabs for both the race winner and the series champ.

Donald McIntosh sits atop of the latest Southern Nationals Series point standings over Joseph Joiner, but with the drop, Cody Overton joins the mix to make it an interesting battle for the championship tomorrow night at Tazewell Speedway.  As it sits now with each driver’s worst race dropped, McIntosh leads by 10 markers over Joiner and Overton, who are tied for the second spot.  Allen Styck has a firm grip on Rookie of the Year honors heading into tomorrow’s finale.

Current Southern Nationals Series Point Standings (without the drop):
1. Donald McIntosh - 1346
2. Joseph Joiner - 1332
3. Allen Styck (R) - 1274
4. Garrett Smith - 1264
5. Stacy Boles - 1176
6. Daniel Boles (R) - 1164
7. Cody Overton - 1152
8. Landen Zakalowski (R) - 1146
9. Mathew Porter (R) - 982
10. Benji Hicks - 886
* Each driver will drop their worst point race following the point finale at Tazewell on July 25
